Musing 1/24/19

     As the second semester of school gets well on it's way, I can say that so far it's been a mild success. After the disappointment of last semester, I have high hopes for this one to be better. Fortunately, Josh, my significant other, is determined to use his time to help get me through it with all A's. I doubt that I'd get that high of a grade for all of my classes, but it's good to strive high.
     My classes this semester lean more towards the simpler side, it consist of Young Adult Literature, American Literature, Advanced Poetry, and Japanese Culture and Society through Animation, though I prefer to refer to them as "Fictional Boyfriend Time", "The Walt Whitman Fanclub", "Angsty Journaling", and "Anime Club". Really, the only possible issue I could have is keeping up with the readings, especially for my YA Lit. since we have a quiz at the beginning of each class. But, I've taken up bullet journaling again to try to keep my school and work life organized, so ideally the readings shouldn't become a problem. Though I am notorious for procrastinating my work so we will see for sure.
     The only downsides so far are that of my refund and my jobs. Initially, I was going to take out $10,000, part of that was going to pay off my car and the other part was to go to helping me pay for rent for my new apartment. This plan in mind, I had rearranged my work schedules to working two days at the restaurant and three days at the theater. On the upside, now that I work at the theater more I have finally been box trained, meaning I finally get my overdue raise. The downside, in order for me to get Sunday off completely for rest and homework, I had to make mandatory weekend availability for the theater, meaning I couldn't work my usual Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the restaurant.  Less work there means less tips which keep me afloat throughout the week for food and parking.
     Work aside, the real tragedy is that after sacrificing more money for a free day, I found out that because I had taken out so much last semester, and because of something on my FAFSA, I could only obtain a little over $3,000, take away $2,000 and some change, and I have a bit over $1,000 left, far from as much as I was expecting back. I could work Sundays again, but ultimately I know I need at least one day to myself or else I'll burn out again. I'll leave that as a last resort.
     All in all, I'm a bit more optimistic for this semester, which is surprising since I'm rarely optimistic for anything recently. I'll take it one day at a time, and as long as I don't lose my cool or descend into another fit of depression and anxiety, everything should be alright. 

Musing 11/14/18

     In light of the death of Stan Lee, I feel it pressing to do something creative in his honor, hence the start of this series of musings. I've been finding it hard to reach within myself and create any type of medium of art, especially writing, for the past year or tow. I'd like to blame it on a plethora of mental illnesses and my life feeling like it's going downhill, but in actuality it just boils down to a lack of motivation to do anything. Which makes it seem like an easy fix, all you would have to do is "just do", but it seems like even that is a hard skill to come by. I guess this is also my excuse/apology as to why I haven't posted since my "back from hiatus" post It's not that blogging doesn't interest me anymore, it's just that I've lost touch with myself and what I am. But I figured while I'm in this mojo, creating something is better than nothing, so I'll do my best to at least post a musing or two when I can until I find it within to write to the caliber I desire.
     Another issue I've run into is what direction I want to take this blog. My younger, more passionate self valued anime, manga, J-Pop, and Japanese culture quite a bit. Which isn't to say that those things don't interest me anymore (I mean, I'm minoring in Japanese because I still hold those dear to my heart), but I think branching out and broadening my topic coverage will help motivate me to write. It's kind of like creating a no holds barred situation so that I can write whatever whenever, even though I technically could've done that anyways but the blog was following a theme and I'd hate to stray from it without notice.
     That's really all I have to say for this first musing. To conclude, despite the lack of motivation to do anything, I'll do my best to overcome it enough so that hopefully I can get back into the swing of life and find myself again.

We Aim to Please: Fifty Shades of Grey Movie Review *Contains Spoilers*

Now, given the rating and such, my hopes to see if the new Fifty Shades of Grey movie was up to par with the book series was some to none. But the determination of my best friend knew no bounds, and she managed to get us in (much to the dismay of her older brother). So as I sit here scarfing down half a bag of large popcorn covered in oily, buttery goodness whilst I listen to readings of Creepypasta, I bring to you my review on the infamous Fifty Shades of Grey movie.

Based off of the three book erotic novel series, Fifty Shades of Grey was released on February 14, 2015. Charlie Hunnam was originally cast to play the role of Christian Grey along side Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steel, but he gave up the role, leaving Jamie Dornan to fill in his place. Now, for those who haven't read the series, Anastasia "Ana" Steel is a 21 year old college student living with her friend Katherine "Kate" Kavanagh. When Kate comes down with a sudden illness, she sends Ana to fill in to interview 27 year old billionaire Christian Grey.  After several meetings together, Ana and Christian soon delve into a dominant/submissive relationship, where Ana learns to explore her sexual limits and Christian learns to break down his hard exterior and open up emotionally...well at least to Ana.

The movie itself was pretty good, though I have to admit it was extremely rushed. In comparison to the book, multiple scenes were not included in the film. I realize that movie adaptations of novels usually cut out bits and pieces from the book, but I would've at least expected the movie to show Ana getting her job at SIP. Also, the absence of some of the characters seemed to raise a few questions to some people who haven't read the series (i.e. my friend). For example, when Ana and Christian are discussing Ana's visit with the physician after she received the contraception, her "I'm not allowed to have any sexual relations for four weeks" joke is kind of up in the air since there was no scene introducing Dr. Green and what . Then of course the fact that Ana's job at SIP wasn't scripted meant that the introduction of Jack Hyde wasn't either. Despite all of this, it seems like the movie was mostly concerned about showing the relationship between Christian and Ana. Which is alright, but still a bit disappointing.

There was some good points though to the movie. I highly enjoyed the (possibly) unintended humor that was spread out throughout the movie. From Christian Grey throwing Ana over his shoulder and randomly slapping her butt to Ana's innocent "What's a butt-plug?" line, I couldn't help but let out a few stifled giggles. Also, Ana's laidback personality contrasted well with Christian's constant monotonous business-like demeanor. Her little "happy dances" that she does is quite entertaining and helps lighten the mood a bit. Especially the drunk call scene at the bar, that had to be one of my favorite scenes.

And then there's the sex. Now, seeing as this was based off of an erotic novel, I was prepared to see gyrating hips and loud moans and grunts. What took me by surprise though, was just how much was actually shown. Yes, there was nakedness...a lot of nakedness. Especially Ana's breasts and behind. And though she was positioned in a way that she could show her naked body without exposing her genitals (and thus turning the movie into a legit pornographic film), there were brief split second moments where a small glimpse of her pubic region could be spotted. Well, more like the pubic hair. And Christian's bare butt was also on glorious display alongside Ana's. And just like Ana, no genitalia was shown whatsoever, aside from the also split second view we got from when he unzipped his pants. But as I stated before, it's mainly just the pubic hair.

Fifty Shades of Grey was truly an interesting watch. Sparking debates against my friend who wondered if their relationship counted as an abusive one, I found the movie as a whole fun to see, but slightly disappointing. I am curious, however, to see if another movie is scheduled to be released. Seeing as how Fifty Shades of Grey ended on the same note as the book, there may be a good chance of a second movie. If that's the case, then I won't doubt that I'll find some way to go see it, even if it means persuading one of my friends to go take me. Plot holes and rushed scenes galore, I kind of wonder if I set my expectations for the movie to high. Then again, movie adaptations seldom do it's novels justice.

Tap Tap Tap! App Store Recommendation: Deemo

I rarely retain the games that I download on my iPad, mainly because I don't want to use up the already limited storage space that I have, but this game was well worth the download.

A rhythm game developed by Rayark Games, the game was released on iOS and Android platforms. Now, the best I can explain the game is that it's like Smule, another popular rhythm game available in the app store. But imagine Smule with a storyline, beautiful artwork, and extremely enchanting music. The game download is free, but complete with in-app purchases if you would want to purchase more song books.

The game is centered around a tall, thin, mute, and highly adorable creature named Deemo, who plays piano music in the solitude of his castle. One day, to Deemo's surprise, a little girl falls through a window in the sky and seems to have lost all of her memories. As time goes on and as Deemo plays his piano, the pair realizes that the more he plays the larger a tree sprout seems to grow. Deemo then makes it his goal to get the tree to fully grow so that the little girl could hopefully reach the window in the sky and return to her home.

The story is very engaging and visually stimulating. Something unique about the game that I find very interesting is that there is no spoken dialogue. There is absolutely no words exchanged between any of the characters at all, unless you tap on them whist you explore Deemo's castle, but even then the characters don't converse directly to each other. Instead, we are treated with a beautifully scored soundtrack throughout the entire gameplay. Each song played from the cut scenes to title screen all set this kind of calming, mystical mood for the game and it's just music to the ears...literally.

To go more in depth into the music, the actual songs for the gameplay are riveting. When you open up the song book, the first song to greet you is called Dream, followed by a few other handful of songs. As you continue to progress in the game, you will be able to unlock more songs. Or you could click around in the rooms around the castle and be able to find songs that way. As for the genre of the music, Deemo holds a large range from melodic piano songs to dubstep. I really like the variety of songs that the game presents. The fact that we are able to play such a wide range of songs really keep up the players' interest.

The final thing I would like to touch up upon is the artwork. Everything in the game is hand drawn and done beautifully in my opinion. Especially the cut scenes. Since Deemo relies on pictures to tell the actual story, each scene is separately drawn and fluently combined and feels like one is flipping through a collected book of artwork. The simplicity and earthy tones of the design really adds to the magical feel that the game already has.

Deemo as a whole is one of those app store gems. With outstanding artwork, story, and music, it's as addictive as it is captivating. I would highly recommend this game to those who especially love rhythm games. Now if you don't mind, I think it's time I go back to immersing myself in beating all of my top scores.

In the Name of the Moon:Sailor Moon Crystal Trailer Thoughts

So I was eating some Chinese take out and then it hit me like a plate of Kung Pao chicken, I didn't watch the new trailer for the new Sailor Moon Crystal!

Okay, I'll be completely honest here, I was jumping insanely in my seat throughout the entire video. The animation is really smooth and I love the colors. The art style really gives a really fresh new take on something so familiar.

My hope for this new series is that its more up to par with the manga series. Not to say that the original wasn't awesome, but I think it would be good if the new series pulls more elements from the manga. My suggestion is that they make the villains darker. The thing I loved about the manga is that the villains looked so sinister and like something I'd genuinely be afraid of.

But suggestion aside, I have a feeling that this new Sailor Moon will be undoubtedly awesome. I look forward to its debut on July 5th at 7:00pm. And do you want to know the best part about this debut? All of the new merchandise that will be released! Time to start saving for those collectibles.

Too…Much…Popcorn: Captain America: The Winter Solder Review

 

I honestly don’t know if it’s because I’m just hyped up on half of a large Coke slushy, but I feel like the awesomeness level of this movie was just amplified by fifty. I just need to say that Captain America: The Winter Soldier pretty much made my day way cooler that it already was.

Summary

After the events in the Avengers, Steve Rogers, aka Captain America lives a somewhat quiet life in Washington D.C. and slowly adjusts to modern life. But as a new emerges, Steve, S.H.E.I.L.D, and the world, are caught up in an intricate web of secrets that needs to be uncovered. Captain America must team up with Black Widow and a new friend to expose the evil, and all the while, try to not be killed by a powerful assassin.

My Thoughts

I was very happy with the characters, especially since Black Widow got way more fight scenes as opposed to the Avengers. It really proves that women can kick just as much butt as men do and still have time to make a snarky comment. Personally, with all of the publicity Scarlett Johansson got between the Avengers and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, she should get her own movie. I mean, I think Hollywood is way overdue for a superheroin movie and a Black Widow movie will be their best bet. Here’s an idea, make one about her back story. That’ll definitely fill in some unanswered questions I have about her.

But butt-kicking female aside, I was thoroughly impressed with Captain America, Falcon, and Nick Fury. The Captain did his job and yet again saved the mass of people, one muscular punch at a time. Falcon made me want to grab a pair of mechanical wings, do away with my irrational fear of heights, and glide effortlessly in the sky while dodging the millions of raining bullets trying to bring me to my demise. And to be honest, it wasn’t really Nicky Fury himself that made me go “OHHHHHH!!!!!!” (Though he did have his moments), it was his car that I loved so much. I won’t give away to much detail about it, but I will say that the roads will become a much safer place. Well…minus the guns.

The plot was well written, but to the dismay of some hardcore “must be exactly like the comic” fans, it doesn’t really follow the comic, though it does pull certain elements from it. Take the Winter Soldier’s costume for example. It’s pretty much the exact same as from the comic. I really liked the overall story of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. There’s just something about how Marvel Studios does the Captain America movies that just really hit home for me. Not saying that their other work isn’t good, I just find that the Captain America movies have more of a “story”. I mean, all of the movies have a well developed story, I just feel like it makes me care less about (debatably) hunky, muscular good guys fighting (also debatably) hunky, not so muscular bad guys. But that’s just my opinion.

When I woke up this morning (or more like afternoon), I wasn’t expecting to go watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but I’m not complaining. I enjoyed the movie a lot. The plot, the characters, the soundtrack, the fighting, they all combined to create a totally butt kicking film. And there is one element that I just really made me totally freak out about. (WARNING: I’m pretty sure this counts as a spoiler) After the credits, let’s just say some surviving bad guys begin devising a new evil plan and they mention having to “use the twins”. Once the camera pans over, we see two separate children, both in their own separate rooms. One child, a boy, is frantically speeding around the room and the other child, a girl, is using telekinesis to make what looked like blocks fly around. Eventually, the movie ends with the camera on the girl sending out a surge of energy and the screen saying that “Captain America will return in the Age of Ultron” . My point?  Well, those wonderful twins were Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver!!! But the Quicksilver in the Avengers: Age of Ultron isn’t going to be played by Evan Peters (who plays Quicksilver in the new X-men: Days of Future Past). Even though the Avengers and the X-men are both a part of the same universe, it doesn’t seem like they are. Which if it continues on like this, I’m afraid I won’t get to see my Avengers verses X-men movie. Nevertheless, my excitement level is still on overdrive due to the fact that Scarlet Witch is going to be in the new Avengers movie. The only downside is that I have to wait until next year to see it. Oh well, in the meantime I can occupy myself with watching the new Godzilla and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Don't forget to Watch:-Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier

For those of you who want something to watch, need a place to hang out, or just have nothing to do, then you should spend your Friday night eating a bucket of popcorn and watching Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. From the looks of the trailer (posted below), it seems to hold lots of promise and comes off nothing less than epic. Hopefully I can do some convincing to my parents to let us go see it this weekend so I can write a review. Keeping my fingers crossed!

 

J-Pop/K-Pop Recommendation #2-TVXQ

Hello, and welcome to J-pop/K-pop Recommendation #2! For the past few days I've been going back and listening to all of the old J-pop and K-pop songs that I used to bust out into dance too (well, those of which I remember). And while searching YouTube, I came across the long forgotten TVXQ-Catch Me music video. Of course I did some intense freaking out because of the fact that I've completely pushed it's existence out of my brain. After that rediscovery, you could say that their songs have been on repeat and blasted for a good 2 days straight. Speaking of which, I would like to take a quick second and apologize to my family for torturing their ear drums with my extreme failure to belt out Changmin's super high scream of coolness. I love you guys, and sorry for filling the house with unintended, torturous-sounding whale screams!

Anyways, TVXQ first debuted in December 26, 2003 and at the time, included  the members Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu, Yunho, and Changmin. But due to a controversy that involved SM Entertainment's long term contracts, Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu are now no longer involved with TVXQ.

But during the time when all 5 of the original members where still present, they produced two of my favorite songs Mirotic and Balloons. Now, I listened to Mirotic first and my first thoughts were "Sirs, your immense showing of skin is highly distracting...(not that it's a bad thing)". But it had a very serious and tough tone to it. So when I stumbled upon Balloons, I was shocked at the laid back aura and I almost passed out from a fangirl overload due to their cosplay. Despite my shock, it very quickly made it to my list of "feel good" K-pop songs.

Now adays, it's existing members are Changmin and Yunho. Even though it's just the two of them, they are still going strong and their songs Catch Me and Humanoids definitely shouldn't be overlooked.

TVXQ is definitely a group worth listening too and really hold an important place in K-pop history. Plus, did I mention that they have the biggest fan club in the world? That's gotta say something.

Best Comeback Ever!: Dragonball Z Battle of the Gods

Now before I get into talking about the movie, let's take a moment of silence to thank Toei Animations (animators of my favorite series Sailor Moon and Chrono Trigger) for continuing to animate the Dragonball series, and let me say this, it was one of the best animations I've seen in a while. But I'll get more into that later.

Summary
After a long slumber, God of Destruction, Birus (or Bills) is awakened by his trainer Uis (or Wis) and is told that Freeza was defeated by a Saiyan. Shocked, Birus tells Uis about a dream he had about a Super Saiyan God and Uis informs Birus of Goku and his past. Soon after, they make their way to Kaio-sama's planet and challenges Goku. After discovering the Goku is not Super Saiyan God, they make their way to Earth in order to find some hint of the alleged being.

My Thoughts
Oh. My. Gosh. Epic. This has to be one of the coolest comebacks in the history of comebacks (and not just because their making a new series due to the awesome response to the movie release). They really threw everything out in this movie.

Some of the highlights that I liked about the plot was that they had virtually every character shown at least twice, not including villains. Even Pilaf, Mai, and Shu were shown, and they had a pretty important roll! And the fight scenes were very noteworthy. They were just packed with so much action and humor. And speaking of humor, I don't think I laughed so hard in so long. Fair warning, I have never in my life seen Vegeta and Shenlong act the way they did.

The graphics were actually very good. To be honest, I was never a fan of when the animation switched from 2D to 3D and back to 2D, it just never flowed and looked pretty weird to me (like in Lil Pri). But I was extremely pleased with how they combined the 2D and 3D scenes. It flowed together and didn't look choppy and awkward too look at.

Finally, the soundtrack was far from boring. It stayed true to the original Dragonball Z series, and still held onto the original opening song"Cha-La-Head-Cha-La" by Flow. The fact that they kept the song, made me do almost literal flips off the couch. Yes, I was super happy about that.

Overall, I loved this movie. It was funny, action packed, epic, and basically everything that the Dragonball series already was. Awesome. Do I recommend it? Absolutely. It's a must see for any die hard Dragonball fan or just any fan in general.

BL Movie Review #1-Junjou Pure Heart

After my long while of trying to find some age appropriate Yaoi anime (which never worked out unless it was shonen-ai), I once again stumbled across that weird part of YouTube. Fortunately though, this accidental find put me into an awkward-in-a-good-way mood and thus ignited a new flame of obsession for BL films.

My Thoughts
Being my first BL (Boys Love) movie, I was curious to see if I would get the same fangirl mood I get when watching an animated BL series. And I'll admit, I didn't really fangirl as much as I thought I would. But what it lacked in fangirling scenes, it made up in the actual plot. The fact that the movie didn't rely heavily on BxB action, earned my respect in the sense that I would consider it an actual film, as opposed to a movie who's main goal is to drown you in your own nosebleed.

The soundtrack was really well composed. It was very lighthearted and enhanced the mood of the story in a very subtle yet effective way. Would I go out on a full hunt for the OST? Not really, but it's still worth listening too. Plus it makes a good track to study too!

Character wise, the movie was well casted and the characters were really conveyed well. Rakuto Tochihara, to me, had the perfect uke face and I couldn't have asked for a better person to portray Tozaki. Yuta Takahashi on the other hand, really didn't stand out that much to me as a seme, but more of a "friend to the uke" type of person, as far as looks goes. This, though, can be easily forgotten by his superb acting.

Overall, I really enjoyed this as my first BL movie. The only con I can really think of is some of the kissing scenes. They seemed very over exaggerated and forced, and quite frankly, a bit awkward to watch and not realistic at all. But that's my only complaint about that, and despite those few scenes, it doesn't take away from the rest of the movie. This is defiantly one I would put on my recommendation list of BL movies.

I Can Die Happy: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi Gets A Movie in 2014!

YESSSSS!!! Nothing can every express my happiness for this movie. Going back to my first post on this blog named The Best Thing That Happened To Me Since Starbucks, I discussed the basic plot and a short description of the couples in Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Since the series stopped at Season 2, like it's counter part Junjou Romantica, I dreamed of the day that a Season 3 would be released for either (or both) of these fantastic shows. Unfortunately, to this day my wish has yet to come true, even though I am 95% sure that the currently ongoing mangas have enough material to work with for a new season. But load and behold, Studio DEEN decide to gift all of us Yaoi hungry fangirls with a Sekaiichi Hatsukoi MOVIE.

In this movie, the focus is on the best friend of Takuno Masamune, Yokozawa Takafumi. Now if you were anything like me watching this series, at the mention of the name Yokozawa you would be screaming crazy things like "Takano-san belongs to Onodora, not him!!!" or "Takano doesn't love you, go find another person!". And thanks to our efforts, Yokozawa is taking our advice and is going to find himself a man he can finally claim as his own, also known as Zen Kirishima.

The specific release date is to-be-announced, but is supposed to be aired in Japan around spring of 2014. And in order to feed your newly profound eagerness, here is a 16 second long teaser to help make the anticipation worse.

 

 

 

More information will be followed once it's released. And before this post ends, I have one extremely nagging question: Yokozawa, seme or uke?

BANZAI!! 2013 BanzaiCon

Yay, my first die hard anime convention! I had a bunch of fun here, especially since we got the three day passes (another first!). And I must say, there was a hefty amount of people there. I don't know if it's because I live in a very not-so-happening place, or I don't know a lot of anime lovers but I was expecting a lot less people. But hey, I'm not complaining.

The dealers room wasn't as big as I expected it to be. One could easily do a quick swoop around in less than 3 minutes, but the overall content of the room was good. I was eagerly greeted by the wonderful stand of Japanese snacks, some I have seen before, and some that completely baffled my mind. I ended buying a Champagne, Hot Chili Oil, and Curry Flavored Ramune. So far I have only tried the Curry Flavored Ramune, and your mind has the hardest time deciphering if it tastes sweet or like curry. Like I said before, baffling, but worth the experience!

The dealer's room overall was pretty interesting. Aside from the snacks, I got myself a wig, a Sailor Moon necklace, and a Vampire Knight Magnetic Bookmark Set (gotta keep reading interesting). I also contemplated on buying a kimono which was going for $20 and up, but instead decided to settle for a macha green Alpaca. To my happiness, they had a little table of Kpop CDs and I almost got one. The only problem was that the prices were ranging from $35 the least to about $100. My opinion, stick to ITunes if you just want the songs, but go ahead and spend the dough of you want to collect and have extreme bragging rights.

Panels, a great way to get informed and have a butt load of fun. Thanks to my gracious parents who were willing to sit through the entire 2 hours of screaming and singing, I had a wonderful time fangirling and dancing at the Kpop Panel. I also got a new arsenal of catchy songs that I am now thoroughly obsessing over (B1A4-What's Happening, Bigbang-Monster). Kpop panel aside, I also went to an FX Make-up Panel which is very informational to a person (like me) who knows absolutely nothing about how to make scars and burns. The questions from the people around the room also give you a more detailed explanation and tricks for future reference. Bonus, she passed out free Almond Joys! 

The only disappointment I had was at the Hatsune Miku Concert Panel. Not only was the room packed so much that I was breathing in hot dog breath from the guy next to me, the screen was barley visible. If the people who run the panel know that Hatsune Miku is practically an icon now, they should've either put the screen higher or put other screens around the room. From what I could see, the video was extremely low quality. It might've been the fact that it was a bunch of YouTube videos compiled onto one big video, but whatever the case I was disappointed enough to leave within the first 10 minutes and YouTube the videos myself when I got home. At least that way I knew I would've be plagued by the drastic hot dog breath the entire time. 

Overall, I really enjoyed myself. I'm will admit that I was expecting it to be bigger, but then again I think I'm just spoiled on MegaCon. Plus, it's all about the content. Would I go back again? Probably, though it might not be my ultimate first choice.

Back From Time Traveling, Now Back to Work

I know, I have been gone for a long time. And by long time, I mean LONG time. But hey, I'm back and totally hyped up!
And just to address one thing, I tried to upload the MegaCon pictures but my computer decided to reject me and deleted the post that had it. Five times. But I did take some pictures of a more recent con which I will post up soon.

2013 Megacon This Weekend!

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that the 2013 MegaCon in Orlando, Florida is this weekend! Yes, I am going, and I'll be sure to post some pictures of it. Tickets will be sold on site starting tomorrow at 10:30am, so make sure to pick one up.
If your contemplating on if you should go or not, I highly recommend you do. I go to the MegaCon almost every year for the past 6-7 years now and each time I find something awesome. They have comics, gaming, anime (you can't forget the anime), and the always awesome Artist Corner! For those of you who don't know what that it, it's basically a corner of the convention room where potentially successful comic writers and artist are. My favorite part? Buying $1.00 magnets and pins! The Artist Corner is the only place I will buy those kind of things because of there originality. I mean, who is going to have a gigantic magnet with a monster crab on it in there locker? This guy! So if anything, do it for the aspiring artists. Heck, buy a couple of there comics while your there.
Another thing I like this year in particular. The Weasley Twins baby! I had a chance to meet Tom Felton (Malfoy) back in the HerosCon, but I chickened out. But not this time! The awesome thing about meeting celebrities at conventions, is that nobody at work or school usually goes to conventions. So think of it as a chance to take a picture of your friend's celebrity crush, post it on Facebook and rub it in there face. I mean, that's why Facebook was invented, right?

J-Pop/K-Pop Recomendation #1-DGNA

Hontouni Gomenasai!I know there's been a totally lack of activity lately, but my life has been extremely busy. I'll really try to write more often.

For about a year or two now i've been loving J-Pop and K-Pop. So I decided to share with you guys some of my findings. My very first J-Pop band which consisted of all guys is Daikoku Danji, or their Korean name Dae Guk Nam Ah (DGNA). Even though they debuted in Korea, their popularity seems to be most in Japan. DGNA is one of my all time favorites, and all of their songs are heartwarming and fun to sing and dance along too. I highly recommend them to anybody.

The New Addition To My Family

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been able to post as often as I liked to. Scheduel has been very tight lately. So recently I got a new addition to my little family.

I got a Marimo! I was surprised that they had it at Pet Smart of all places. Either that, or I just never payed attention :P

I'm very happy with my new "pet". Now I just need a name...

Saturday Nights Just Got Better

With it's astounding return, Saturday nights just got a heck of a lot cooler. It's been a while since Toonami has shown itself on Adult Swim, but now it's back and with a new line of shows. To start off the return, Deadman Wonderland, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Casshern Sins, Ghost in a Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Cowboy Bebop, and Bleach take the stand. Some new series may pop up as time goes on, but for now this is a good set up. I look forward to how far Toonami takes Adult Swim!

How to Make Ohagi

For those people who watched or read Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni (Really good series by the way), worry not. I can assure you that these are needle free.
